NJ 2025 Voter Guide

NJ Spotlight News’ annual voter guide presents a comprehensive look at the governor’s race and the races for one unexpired state Senate seat and all 80 Assembly seats.
This year’s guide is a collaborative project with the Center for Cooperative Media at Montclair State University, which reached out to every candidate running for a state office multiple times. The guide notes which candidates responded and which didn’t.
Every gubernatorial candidate provided background information and answers to questions on key issues facing the state for the guide to the governor’s race.

For each legislative district, there is a description of each race, background on all the candidates and the responses to the questionnaire, including a link to where to find more information.
New Jersey is divided into 40 legislative districts, each of which has one state senator and two Assembly members. All 80 Assembly seats are on the ballot, along with a Senate seat in the 35th District covering parts of Bergen and Passaic counties.
Voters unsure about what district they are in can use the main map. Type an address into the search box; that pinpoints its precise location. Then click within the boundary where the address is located to find the number of the related district and its current representatives. Or move the map around and use the zoom controls to find a town and the district in which it is located.
