NJ Voters Guide: 26th Legislative District

New Jersey’s 26th Legislative District covers a dozen municipalities in Morris County (Boonton, Denville, East Hanover, Florham Park, Hanover, Lincoln Park, Montville, Morris Plains, Mountain Lakes, Parsippany, Pequannock and Riverdale) and four in Passaic County (Bloomingdale, Pompton Lakes, Ringwood and Wanaque).

The district has been a stronghold for New Jersey Republicans for decades. Registered Republicans make up about 37% of the total voter rolls, while Democrats account for about 29% of the total and most of the rest are unaffiliated.

The Republican incumbents seeking reelection are Jay Webber, a lawyer, and Brian Bergen, a business owner.

The Democratic challengers ar Walter Mielarczyk, who was unsuccessful in a run two years ago, and Michael Mancuso of Pequannock.
