An arrest has been made in the murder of Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, nearly four months after her death. The Middlesex County Prosecutor Tuesday announced that Rashid Ali Bynum was arrested in Chesapeake City, Virginia Tuesday morning. The 28-year-old Virginia native knew Dwumfour through the church she was associated with.
The 30-year-old councilwoman was shot and killed in her car outside her home on Feb. 1. Family members have been frustrated by the lack of information about her murder. On Tuesday, law enforcement called it a complex, extensive case requiring painstaking police work and pledged that the councilwoman’s family will get justice.
