After tracking more than 800 participants since the start of the pandemic, researchers at Rutgers University say they have new key insights into COVID-19 infections and who develops the strongest immune response. Their research shows that people who had a tough battle with the virus, those with severe and prolonged symptoms, also produced the most antibodies important for fighting against future infection. And that was especially true for one sector of the population: nurses.
We talk with Dr. Emily Barrett from the Rutgers School of Public Health, co-lead author of the study.
