The statewide primary election is now exactly two weeks away, and the state is already reporting 185,000 mail-in ballots have been returned.
NJ Spotlight News anchor Briana Vannozzi spoke with Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami-Covello about the voting so far and the three options available for still casting one’s vote.
For voting by mail, those interested can still apply by May 28, or can do so in person by 3 pm on June 3 at the county clerk’s office. An invitation can be printed from the state’s website.
To vote in-person but early, one can do so at a designated voting location in one’s county, open between May 29 and June 2. “It gives you flexibility so you can vote on the weekends and in the evenings,” said Sollami-Covello of the early option.
“We really encourage people to take advantage of that because there’s less crowds, less lines,” she said.
And one can still vote the old-fashioned way, she said, in person on June 4’s primary election day.
