As Democratic congressional members tout the newly signed Inflation Reduction Act, one New Jersey representative is applauding the reinstatement of the Superfund tax on oil companies, a measure that is buried in the bill.

Rep. Frank Pallone (D-6th) says the tax is expected to raise more than $11 billion to ensure polluters, not taxpayers, foot the bill to clean up toxic waste sites. Pallone, who has long advocated for the reinstatement of the tax, discusses what it will mean for people in New Jersey who live near Superfund sites.
