Former New Jersey Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg led a rally Tuesday with a group of residents from a senior living community about the recent increase in gun violence. Weinberg, who served in the state Senate from 2005 to 2022, is pushing for federal reform of gun laws.
“More American children are killed by gun violence than any other reason in our country … That is mind-boggling,” Weinberg said.
“We have guns running through our state. We can’t solve this problem in New Jersey alone. It needs to be solved federally. It needs to be solved nationally.”
