U.S. employers added 678,000 jobs in February — the most since July 2021 — according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Labor. In addition, the unemployment rate dropped to 3.8% — lower than originally expected.

The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced it will offer in-person unemployment assistance at one-stop career centers by appointment, starting March 28. The announcement came just after the state Senate unanimously approved a resolution calling on Gov. Phil Murphy to immediately address the backlog in unemployment claims and reopen state offices to the public.
