The first dispensary for sales of recreational marijuana opened in Ocean County Friday. Before the Social Leaf Dispensary opened in South Toms River, customers would have to travel long distances to access recreational products.
Last week also saw the opening for medical marijuana sales of the Bloc Dispensary in Waretown, Ocean County.
“We’re trying our best to get all types of medications here so that way people don’t have to drive an hour away anymore. They can come to one place and find all the medications in one spot,” said Johnny Ventura, store manager for the Bloc Dispensary.
Almost 103,000 New Jersey residents are registered as medical marijuana patients; Ocean County has roughly 8,300.
