The Woodland Behavioral and Nursing Center will avoid closure for now. Federal regulators had threatened to cut off Medicare and Medicaid funding if the troubled nursing home did not fix serious violations that threatened the health and safety of its residents by March 3.

On Friday, a spokesperson for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services told NJ Spotlight News that Woodland’s 450 residents are no longer in “immediate jeopardy.” And the nursing home now has until August 15 to improve quality of care for its residents or get cut off from federal funding.
