It’s been 20 days since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and more than 3 million people have now fled Ukraine. One family who moved from Camden, New Jersey to Ukraine so that their children could experience their Ukrainian heritage are now in Poland and unsure about where they will go next.
“This is really, really painful. You know, it is… seeing the people lost, you know these are real people. We have friends who are in the line of fire right now who are parents. My aunt and her husband and my cousin with his family, a wife and daughter, are now somewhere in a bunker in Chernihiv, which is the city that has been under consistent attack from day one. I haven’t heard from them in four days,” said Tatiana Poladko.
