Russia continues to expand its assault on Ukraine. Over the weekend a Russian airstrike hit a Ukrainian military base near the Polish border, killing 35 people. It was the closest attack yet to a NATO nation. According to a new Rutgers-Eagleton poll, 46% of New Jerseyans support sending additional troops to Eastern Europe to deter Russia, but 43% oppose such a move and 11% are unsure. The poll was conducted during the week ending March 4.

Some 2.8 million Ukrainians have now fled their country. One of those refugees is Uljana Zamaslo, a New Jersey native who moved to Ukraine long before the war began and who fled with her daughter to Poland to escape the violence. She spoke to us from Warsaw.
