New Jersey education officials are poring over the just-released school-by-school results of last spring’s standardized tests. The state had previously released statewide results that showed a drop in student performance overall during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The latest results provide another layer of transparency as individual school districts are trying to develop a way forward from, in some cases, steep learning loss. The detailed findings also revealed disparities; they show that learning loss was less an issue for students in wealthy school districts compared to those in less affluent communities.
