Jersey pride will be on full display Friday during the Australian Open semifinals. Twenty-five-year-old South Jersey native Tommy Paul will face nine-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia. Paul has had a remarkable tournament after making just one semifinal at tour level last year.
In Australia, Paul managed to fly under the radar until the quarterfinals, when he defeated Ben Shelton, a 20-year-old tennis phenom from the University of Florida. Paul is the first U.S. man to make it to the final four in Melbourne since Andy Roddick in 2009.
