Push to help people apply for Excluded New Jerseyans Fund

Advocates work to get word out that funding, application deadline extended

A group of advocates pounded the pavement Monday to get the word out that more state funding is available for immigrants and others not previously eligible for COVID-19 aid. The Excluded New Jerseyans Fund will remain open past the previous deadline of Monday, and Gov. Phil Murphy announced last week that the state would increase its contribution from $10 million to $40 million.

The advocacy group Make the Road New Jersey hosted a day of action in Elizabeth to get the word out to all those who could benefit from the fund and to assist them in the application process. The new deadline to apply is the end of February.
