Advocates are hopeful that undocumented immigrants living in New Jersey will soon get pandemic relief. Up to $40 million will be added to the Excluded New Jerseyans Fund, Gov. Phil Murphy announced. The fund was created for undocumented immigrants and other residents ineligible for federal pandemic relief.
The $40 million is up from an initial cap of $10 million. But advocates worry that many people who desperately need assistance still will be left out, since New Jersey is home to nearly half a million undocumented residents.
