In an apology-filled hearing Wednesday, the state Board of Education officially relinquished control of Paterson’s public school district and handed the reins back to the city’s local Board of Education after three decades of state control. She also serves on The WNET Group’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion council and is vice president of The Second Street Youth Center, based in Plainfield.
