The threat of storms like Tuesday’s nor’easter is causing concern for hundreds of tenants of Oakwood Plaza in Elizabeth. They say they are still being forced to live in shelters and hotels after Tropical Storm Ida flooded them out of their homes and they fear future storms will lead to more flooding.
Residents and local advocates are demanding city and federal officials step in. The owner of the complex, CIS Management, told NJ Spotlight News it has been keeping tenants informed but that progress in repairing the complex has been slow because of supply chain issues.
