She still struggles with symptoms like a sudden, rapid heartbeat, dizziness and shortness of breath, and doctors admit treatment options have been “limited.” And there’s no lack of patients: the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates one in five COVID-19 survivors under age 64 also still experiences at least one complication — an unwelcome reminder of the novel coronavirus doctors still can’t quite figure out. But new studies are showing promise.
