A new Monmouth University Poll, released on Thursday, finds just over half of New Jerseyans either prefer, or lean toward, keeping Democrats in power in Congress. About four in 10 of those surveyed would like to see a switch to Republican control.

President Joe Biden’s approval ratings are still trending downward while the ratings for U.S. Sens. Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (D-NJ) remain positive.

When it comes to what can often feel like an overly packed primary season, 52% of poll respondents say they would support shifting New Jersey’s presidential primary from June to February. Were that to happen, it would make New Jersey among the first in the nation to do so.
