For decades, the Jersey Shore has been a favorite destination for families to spend their summer vacation. This year is expected to be no different but finding a place to stay could be a little more difficult than in other years. Realtors say the demand for rental properties has increased by about 20% from 2021. And because many people have turned their secondary homes at the Shore into their primary residence, there are fewer rentals available. That’s also causing prices to increase.
Robert White, president of New Jersey Realtors, said, “We are seeing record number of people flocking or wanting to flock to the Jersey Shore this summer. There’s not too much left unless you’ve got a specific week in mind that’s not in the height of season between July and August but pretty much everything has been rented.”
