With the midterm elections rapidly approaching, voters are zeroing in on the candidates.
During a virtual debate Sunday night hosted by New Jersey Globe, Democratic incumbent Rep. Mikie Sherrill of the 11th District and her Republican challenger Paul DeGroot faced off, sharing their positions on issues like the economy and the state and local property-tax deduction, as well as abortion — and, if elected, whom they would support for House leadership positions.
New Jersey’s most competitive midterm race and one of the most closely watched contests in the nation is in the 7th District, with nonpartisan analysts at Inside Elections now giving former Republican state Sen. Tom Kean Jr. a slight edge over incumbent Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski.
