The New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission held a meeting Friday, Oct. 15, to announce the applicants who will receive the 2019 round of medical marijuana licenses. The process had been delayed because of litigation and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among the applicants who did not receive a license was Travis Ally. Now he and other disappointed applicants must figure out their next steps, especially after spending large amounts of money to try to earn a license. Ally said he’s going to speak to his team to see if they will apply for a recreational license and the possibility of litigation because of the financial hit they took waiting for this answer.

“I have to look at our application to have more to say but I’m extremely disappointed,” said Ally. “They could have done more over the last two years than just like, there’s your score. Well, what about compensation or some sort … [of] advice?”
