Hundreds of environmentalists and community activists marched Thursday to the State House in Trenton, demanding urgent action from the Murphy administration to move the state off fossil fuels by rejecting several pending projects — and to create a detailed plan outlining how New Jersey will meet Murphy’s commitment to cut climate pollution in half by the end of this decade.

Groups at the rally said New Jersey should place a moratorium on all new fossil fuel projects until the state comes up with ways to eventually replace them with renewable sources of energy.
