Change is coming to New Jersey’s highest court. It’s just a matter of when, and who the new faces are. With one justice already retired and another set to leave the state Supreme Court next month, Gov. Phil Murphy has the opportunity to nominate a pair of new justices. But a governor’s pick is not always a lock for approval, as recent history shows.

The governor’s office says it is premature to be floating any names of nominees. And Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi says she hasn’t agreed to anything. Murphy is likely to have five total appointments if he completes his second term.
