Cassidy Hutchinson, the one-time top aide to former chief of staff Mark Meadows, told Congress, Trump knew his supporters were carrying weapons and had a potential for violence. Yet he insisted on leading them to the Capitol and incited the insurrection as a means to block the transfer of power—even as his top advisors warned him the movement was illegal.
