Founders of the Forward Party, a new political party led by former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman, former presidential candidate Andrew Yang and former U.S. Rep Dave Jolly (R-FL), say they aim to find higher ground for a storm-tossed electorate.
“Today you have around fifty percent or better registered voters who are registered independent, which is telling you that they’re not happy with either party. And then you’ve got over sixty percent who just say when asked would you like a third alternative, say yes. So there’s something going on here and what we’re saying is we’re going work to provide that alternative,” Whitman said.
“Even if we don’t get anywhere but we get the two major parties to move back to the center where the American people are, then we’ve done a good job,” Whitman added.
