The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen helps people in need to put food on the table, and during the holiday season that mission is particularly underlined.
On Friday, TASK distributed bags of food to hundreds of people, just some of the thousands of meals to be distributed for the Thanksgiving holiday. “The baskets contain turkey, pie, stuffing, fruit, a vegetable, a potato — everything you need to make a Thanksgiving meal,” said Paul Jensen, TASK’s chief operating officer.
“With the way the economy is, it’s really hard to buy food,” said Trenton resident Lisa Lewis, among those picking up food. “And I thank the Trenton Soup Kitchen so much. I’m able to cook dinner, have family over. And without them it wouldn’t be possible.”
