What end of eviction moratorium will mean for tenants who owe rent

The moratorium is set to expire on Dec. 31

In just two days, New Jersey’s eviction moratorium will be lifted. The moratorium was put in place to help those who faced financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. But without that protection, tenants who are unable to pay rent are at risk of losing their homes. Matt Shapiro, president of the New Jersey Tenants Organization, explains.
