Seniors in East Orange taking their COVID-19 boosters shot are getting a little help this holiday season. As part of the city’s new COVID-19 vaccination incentive program residents are being offered shopping gift cards and holiday food boxes while supplies last.
East Orange is lagging in vaccination rates. Just 60% of adults there are fully vaccinated against the disease. For seniors in East Orange, that rate climbs to 73%, still well short of the overall senior vaccination rate in New Jersey of 92%.
