Hundreds of Philadelphia Eagles fans gathered in Camden Friday, ready for their team to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in this weekend’s Super Bowl. What’s especially exciting for the city that’s just a bridge away from Philly is seeing Camden native Hassan Reddick play linebacker for the Eagles.
“You can’t say enough about Hassan Reddick. As good as he’s been on the football field is as good as he’s been in our community,” said Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen. “It’s not just about football, it’s about dreaming. You can be whatever you want to be. If you believe it, work hard, you can be whatever you want to be.”
Carstarphen said, “We’re all Eagles fans. We’re ready. I mean, 2018 we were there. We won. We’re back. We’re going to take it Sunday. The energy from this area, the energy from this city is going to carry on to Sunday, I believe. And I believe we’re going have another Superbowl.”
