Tuition relief might be on the horizon for college students.

The annual “Trends in College Pricing” report by The College Board indicates tuitions at public universities nationwide have been decreasing over the past decade, with the four-year schools dropping about 4% and the two-year seeing a 9% decrease. The average tuition cost dropped from nearly $12,100 in 2014 to $11,600 this year, the report said.

In New Jersey, Rutgers University saw its tuition drop by 5% in the last five years, the report said. New Jersey provides about $11,000 in public funding for schools for each full-time student, according to the report.

While student debt relief continues being held up in courts through a back-and-forth battle, the average debt remains at about $27,000. Meanwhile, the report said the number of those graduating with a bachelor’s degree is down 10% from a decade ago.
