After announcing his 2024 presidential bid in Manchester, New Hampshire Tuesday night, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will officially hit the campaign trail. Christie indicated his strategy is to attack the former president for both his demeanor and policies in the hope that a more focused strategy will, unlike in 2016, produce enough votes for Christie to make a real run for the Republican nomination for the White House.

Christie said that Trump “never admits a mistake … never admits a fault and always found someone else and something else to blame for whatever goes wrong but finds every reason to take credit for anything that goes right.”

Christie has used his platform on ABC News to remake himself as the most vocal critic of the former president. Still, even as he prepares to announce another run for president, Christie is not polling well and, said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, “He’s just not popular.”
