New Jersey lawmakers are considering a bill that would legalize online casino gambling for another ten years. Renewal legislation must be adopted before next November to ensure online casino gambling can continue uninterrupted in New Jersey through 2033. The state Attorney General’s office has announced that New Jersey will receive $500,000 as part of a settlement over data breaches affecting the credit reporting company Experian. The breaches occurred in 2012 and 2015, compromising the personal information of millions of consumers nationwide. In the 2015 data breach, T-Mobile had contracted with Experian to run credit checks on potential customers. Both companies have agreed to improve their security practices.
Transportation improvements are coming to Camden. A $36.5 million infrastructure project is planned for the city, which will upgrade a truck route and improve access to the Port of Camden. Officials say the project will get truck traffic off residential streets. Improvements will also be made to mitigate flooding in the area. Funding is coming from a $25 million federal infrastructure grant, along with state money.
