Shoppers were out in full force this Black Friday, and retailers pulled out all the stops to entice shoppers to skip online and shop in-person.
The make-or-break shopping season comes at a time when people are feeling the effects of high inflation and interest rates, with experts saying shoppers this year will spend cautiously. According to the latest National Retail Federation annual survey, an estimated 182 million people are planning to shop in-store and online from Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday this year.
Eileen Kean, state director of the National Federation of Independent Business, encouraged all New Jerseyans to get out and support the 100,000-plus small businesses in New Jersey, especially on Small Business Saturday this weekend.
