One year into the pandemic, President Joe Biden pledged to pull the nation out of the current health crisis during his first prime-time address, which came just hours after he signed the sweeping $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill.
Biden directed all states to make every adult over the age of 18 eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine by May 1. It does not mean everyone will have a shot, but he says people could have a spot in line.
The administration is launching a nationwide website to help people secure appointments. Biden also promised the reopening of most K-8 schools for in-person learning within his first 100 days in office.
