Roughly 3,200 new COVID-19 positive tests were reported in New Jersey Thursday and another 46 deaths. But though hospitalizations and infection rates are trending downward, health experts warn people against dropping their guard.
Dr. Perry Halkitis, Dean of the Rutgers School of Public Health, said, “It’s not like the pandemic has disappeared … and we need to continue to be cautious.” He said that lack of vigilance could slow down progress toward eventual herd immunity in New Jersey.
