James Leventis, executive vice president at Verano, one of seven Alternative Treatment Centers, or ATCs, that got approval Monday to enter the marketplace for legalized recreational marijuana, said, “I don’t think we’re going to launch on 4/20 but it will be at some point next week is my best guess.”
The state’s Cannabis Regulatory Commission approved seven medical marijuana operators to expand their operations for recreational sales at 13 dispensaries.
Reverend Charles Boyer, founder of Salvation and Social Justice, said, “the state is operating in such a way that it is participating in furthering disadvantaging Black and brown ownership and equity in this industry.”
