There are about 21 electric school buses on the roads in New Jersey, according to state and officials, with more to come in the near future. State and federal grants and rebates are making it easier for school districts to switch their fossil-fueled buses to a zero-emission fleet. Among those adopting them are Brick Township, Haddonfield, Jackson, Summit and Toms River Regional, and Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology.
