NJ Spotlight is sharing election coverage with NJTV News, our sister organization, which invited all candidates to complete a brief survey and record a video message; we have included those for all the candidates who responded.
The 14th District covers nine communities in Mercer and Middlesex counties: Cranbury, East Windsor, Hamilton, Hightstown, Jamesburg, Monroe, Plainsboro, Robbinsville, and Spotswood.
More than four in 10 registered voters are unaffiliated, but of those who have chosen a party, 37% are Democrats and 20% are Republicans. The district is represented by Democrats.
Assemblymen Wayne DeAngelo and Daniel Benson, both of Hamilton, are seeking re-election.
The Republicans running are Thomas Calabrese of Hamilton and Bina Shah, who lists an East Windsor post office box as her address.
There is also one independent on the ballot, Michael Bollentin of Hightstown, who is running under the slogan Integrity and Accountability.
