Will manufacturing improvements help with COVID-19 vaccine distribution?

As of midday Monday, the state hit another COVID-19 milestone. More than one million first-dose shots have been put in arms, as well as roughly 369,000 second doses — bringing the total close to 1.4 million. It’s significant progress from just weeks ago, but still far shy of the 4.7 million adults the state is aiming to vaccinate by the summer. Drugmakers say it’s not just the amount of product causing a bottleneck in distribution. Moderna is reportedly asking federal regulators to help them ease the manufacturing process by putting 15 doses of the vaccine in each vial, instead of 10. Will it help? Rutgers University professor of Medicine and Infectious Disease Dr. Martin Blaser joins Anchor Briana Vannozzi.
