When the pandemic hit New Jersey in the spring, state leaders scrambled to secure enough personal protective equipment (PPE) and supplies. But exactly how much was spent and the breakdown of where the PPE came from is still unknown.
A new report by the Associated Press finds that for months, state officials from New York and New Jersey have refused the AP’s public records requests detailing the spending, the only two states in the country to do so.
