Much of the holdup to finalizing New Jersey’s legal marijuana laws centered on ensuring minors weren’t being pulled into the adult-use market. A new national study finds good reason for the concern; it shows that adolescents and teens who try marijuana are more likely to have become dependent on it just one year later.
Dr. Jennifer Chuang, a pediatrician at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, says doctors need to start screening teens, not just adults, for marijuana use.
