A New Jersey team stunned in the first round of the NCAA tournament. No. 15 Saint Peter’s took down No. 2 ranked Kentucky 85 to 79 in a huge overtime upset. The Peacocks from Jersey City are only the tenth 15th seed to win a first-round game since the bracket expanded to 64 teams in the 1980s.
Head coach Shaheen Holloway had no time to celebrate the win, instead gathering his team together to shake hands with the Kentucky players. Holloway says he brought his team down to fight and that’s just what they did. St. Peter’s takes on No. 7 seed Murray State Saturday night for round two.
