Some criticism for first draft of cannabis-enabling legislation

Lawmakers move swiftly to take action. Critics take aim at elements of the bills

New Jersey lawmakers are wasting no time to legalize recreational marijuana. Lawmakers introduced decriminalization and other marijuana-related bills on Friday, Nov. 6, just three days after voters approved legalization of adult use. And Monday, before the public could barely get a chance to read the bills, lawmakers planned to take action. Their efforts were not without critics, including from advocates for social justice.
