NJ Spotlight News anchor Briana Vannozzi spoke with Ian Urbina of The Outlaw Ocean Project about its new report that found Chinese companies relying on — and often abusing — workers from North Korea in exporting seafood to the United States, including New Jersey.

The new reporting found that roughly 100,000 North Korean workers — mostly women — are working for poverty wages under the constant supervision of North Korean and Chinese minders. The workers are subject to physical, mental and sexual abuse, the report said.

The products wind up on grocery shelves, on restaurant plates, and in school cafeterias in New Jersey and around the nation.
