Public housing residents in Atlantic City decry poor living conditions

A lawsuit filed a year ago prompted some repairs

It’s been nearly a year since residents of the Stanley Holmes Village public housing complex in Atlantic City went to court with complaints of poor living conditions and, so far, change has been slow to come.

While the case has produced some results, residents still deal with water that sometimes doesn’t run hot, poor heat and the smell of gas sometimes leaking from poorly installed pipes. They also have complaints about mold, pests and broken appliances.
