Concerned New Jerseyans joined community leaders and environmental activists outside the Port Authority’s office in Manhattan to protest a proposed $432 million deal for an Amazon air cargo mega-hub at Newark airport, saying it would lead to dirty air and health issues in nearby communities. They delivered a signed petition during the Port Authority’s monthly meeting Thursday listing their concerns.
A spokesperson for Amazon tells us they’re always looking to invest in the community and look forward to continued engagement as a final deal is negotiated.
