Once every 10 years, the boundaries of New Jersey’s 12 congressional and 40 legislative districts are redrawn. The legislative redistricting process is meant to ensure equal representation in Trenton based on new census data. But a political commission draws the lines and can solidify power for one party or the other for the next decade. So how will the commission ensure every resident is represented fairly?
