A U.S. Supreme Court decision is reviving the controversial PennEast pipeline project in New Jersey — by overturning a lower court’s ruling that blocked the company from using eminent domain to take state-owned land needed for construction. The decision could make it easier for pipeline projects to be built despite years of effort by environmentalists to block them.

Campaign director of the New Jersey Conservation Foundation Tom Gilbert said, “There’s just no way you can build this pipeline through that area and meet New Jersey’s strict environmental standards.”
